Meet The Herd

These amazing animals have been here with me to help along my journey, as I house and care for these guys they help me heal and grow on my own personal journey as well.

Rain has been with us since 2005. She joined us as a three year old mare with a filly at side (Storm). She’s now watched me raise her foal and her grand-foal. She’s watched me grow from Ranch & Feedlot Rider, through Western and English riding lessons, to practising Parelli. She’s been with me 12 years now and is my first horse I have had to heal, emotionally, physically, mentally. This girl is always finding herself in some kind of situation. But she is also my rock. She’s a confident Right Brain Introvert, who will try anything… if she wants to.

Prince is my newest baby, the son of Storm and grandson of Rain. He was born in May of 2014 on the farm. He has the sweetest and most curious personality of them all. He was sent to a very well-known local trainer for his first taste of riding in January of 2017 and he did very well. He’s now back at the farm and ready to step into his roll as a healing horse. He’s been very present in many of the sessions I have done so far and continues to win over peoples hearts and also ask them to step up in their boundary, respect and leadership skills.

Storm was just a wee filly when I bought her and Rain back in 2005. She’s a very confident and very independent mare who is stubborn but fair. She’s also a Right Brain Introvert who is very curious about everything. I sent Storm away to get trained in 2009, and started practicing my Parelli techniques with her as well, but after I unsuccessfully tried to breed Rain the day came where I made the decision to breed Storm instead to a beautiful Paint stud from Rimbey, Alberta. And a year later we were blessed with our third generation horse from this line, Prince.

Sonny is a horse that came to us in 2011. He was noted as ‘hard to catch’ when we bought him, but once he had a halter on he was like a puppy dog. I started using my natural horsemanship skills with him as well, and once learning the Equine Facilitation practice he has stepped right into that as well. He’s still a very stand-off horse but when he has a message for you, you better listen. He’s what I call my sensitive boundary horse. He’s very independent, it takes a lot to earn his trust and respect, but once you have it your in.

Sundoll I acquired in 2011 when my riding journey with Rain came to a halt because of her injuries. I was looking for a horse who I could finish my Western Rider levels on. It was love at first site when I saw this mare advertised online. So I contacted the owner and went to look at her right away. However, this mare had other things to teach me. With her, my main focus is building and maintaining the trust in the relationship. She’s a very sweet but VERY sensitive mare. Her sensitivity is her strength. She learned her job well (western pleasure) but she is looking for strong trusting leadership in her rider.

Dancer & Apple Jack are new to the herd in 2021. They are the sweetest little mini horses that found me when I was looking for a first birthday present for my son. I knew they were just what the farm and I needed too. Since the moment these two stepped into the trailer to come home I felt the deep connection and knew I made the right choice. They have since been asking me to step up in my own healing and helping me open up more fully to my own intuitive gifts. They have made their way into our lives to help birth the Equine Empowerment program. A program I have been working on since 2013.
