I’ve been thinking A LOT lately about mental health.
Mine, my family, my community and the world in general.
There was a time when I was done…
I was done fighting for life.
I was hurting. I was angry. I was done.
And I was ready to just end things.
And it wasn’t me thinking about anyone missing me or who I’d hurt on the way out… you know that didn’t even cross my mind…
It was my own soul saying to me, “but what about all of those things you’ve been dreaming about doing… what about them? You’ll miss out on LIFE if you let others stop you from living”
So I stayed. And I continued to hurt, but I fought on.
I continued to fight for everything I wanted to live for.
And finally I got to a point in life where it hurt too much. So I, again, said to myself… “this is not how you want to live life”
So I changed. And I continue to change…
I found energy healing, emotional healing, mental healing.
I started letting go of everything that hurt my heart…. not necessarily did that mean they left my life, some did, some didn’t. But I changed how they affected me.
I started forgiving anyone who’d hurt me.
This wasn’t easy. But it was not for them. It was for me. And I started to feel the weight lift off my shoulders. Off my heart.
I started to find peace and happiness.
I started to rewrite my story. I started to heal.
I felt these little miracle shifts each time I let another hurt go.
Life is not always easy. And most of get dealt a pretty shitty hand. But we can change that. We can redeal the cards.
In all honesty I had a very bad day today… but one bad day a month (approx) is only 12 bad days a year. That’s 353 good days full of beauty and joy.
I didn’t start like this. When I started and my teacher asked how I was feeling it was more like a 80% bad days… 20% good days. But now if someone was to ask I’d say more like 90% good days and 10% bad days.
We are human. We are allowed to have major melt downs. For a day, for a month or a year. But know that this world also provides opportunity for good days too.
For every sunny day, there’s a dark night…
But every dark night is full of stars leading us back to the light.
I’ve been there, and you know I’ll be here for you if you ever need an ear to listen or a shoulder to cry on. I’ve cried more than my fair share of tears and I don’t regret a single one. I hurt a lot and they helped me heal.
I attended a funeral of someone who decided their life was worth ending. And it was the most humbling experience I’ve ever had.
A person whom thought that they didn’t matter in this world anymore … and the room was PACKED. They mattered, I matter .. and you matter more than you ever know. ?
