The horse that I barely bonded with this summer is now my best friend and my best protector.
He just stands with me, or over me if I’m sitting.
He shares his love with me every time.
We just chill.
He’s teaching me trust, leadership, respect and boundaries.
All in different doses.
He’s a young horse, but not too young. He’s got this herd thing figured out.
Now I need to get this connection thing figured out.
And on that breath, he sighed…. right in my face.
He’s my pair.
He’s my teacher.
He’s my baby.
He’s my Prince.
We are all in this together. And it’s been an amazing journey this far. But we’ve only just begun.
I’ve spent my life learning how to saddle and bridle and kick and steer and sit and turn and stop and everything it takes to ride a horse…. but I was never taught boundaries. Or leadership. Or respect. Or trust.
In fact I haven’t fully trusted any of my horses.
Because I didn’t have the leadership I needed to gain their respect. Or the boundaries I needed to set to be able to trust them.
But I’m learning the subtleties of this language they speak.
That we all speak.
It’s not just body language. It’s much more than that.
It’s an energy.
It’s a connection.
It’s universal.
It’s in our souls already.
We just have to connect in and find that place.
We have to open up to it.
And heal anything in the way of knowing it deeply and sacredly.
The only thing in the way is fear.
EVER.
It’s only your fear, the large and small ones.
The ones you feel haunt you. And the ones you don’t even notice.
They are all part of this journey.
They are there to help you practice coming back to yourself.
More deeply and wholly than you ever have before.
All it takes is finding trust.
And coming back to that connection with yourself and with all of the universe.
It’s already within you.
Don’t be scared to look.
It’ll be the most beautiful thing you’ll ever find. ?
