Again, what a great week I had.

I successfully finalized my first Partylite show, and am excited to go on and do more of them. I have a few more on my calender but my socializing dates can always be increased. Bring on the fun!

On Wednesday Troy came to visit, and brought my horse back home. Then we went to Red Deer for the weekend for an awesome weekend at the Mane Event Show. It couldn’t have come at a better time as I prepare to start coaching lessons, and am looking for some different tack and equipment. There was a lot of knowledgeable vendors at the trade show to look through and see all the different brands and styles out there. There were also numerous clinics and educational lectures from the top equine trainers and competitors.

We spent the weekend watching the Trainer’s Challenge as three trainers each tried to break a three year old over 4 different hour long sessions, while being judged on their technique and skill. They did very well and worked impressively with each of their horses. I did not get to see who won the competition, because I was expected home and Troy had to hurry back to Grande Prairie, but we did see all 4 of each trainers sessions and where they were at before the final began. It was very encouraging and very informative.

It is a feeling I think I would be proud of if I ever got a horse that far from the start to being rode. (and it doesnt have to be in 4 sessions). That respect and communication between me and my horse would be phenomenal. I hope these lessons this summer and more riding and encouragement will take me further towards that level. And I will continue to learn and try to build on the knowledge that I already have. And put it to use.
