I know I haven’t written since May, but I did not see this blog moving forward. After doing a little bit of research on successful blogs I wanted to take my blogging in a different direction. I enjoy writing, I enjoy farming, I enjoy riding, I enjoy gardening, and I enjoy photography. So now after a month and a bit I have decided to continue on with this blog, only take it in a different direction.
Let’s start by updating you on the past month. The rain did stop. It was very nice for two weeks and most of the seeding got finished, but not all of it. And then it rained, and it rained, and it rained. And it is still raining. The temperature warmed up and they are warm enjoyable summer showers. They bring amazing rainbows and fill the air with humidity. Everything stays clean and fresh. But it limits the amount of farm work that can get done. The first seeding is finished, but the green feed and swath grazing is still not planted.
My flowers are planted though. It’s been quite the season with them. Some of the first ones I bought froze in the cold over night, but are now growing back. Some I believe are drowning in the moisture of their pots. Some are in need of the sun to open and thrive. I have had to replace a few, most are still living, but they are not as good as I’d like them to be. I am very excited about the choices I have made this year in my flower gardens and the new pots I have made up. Each year just keeps getting better and better as I try new things and experiment with different flowers. I can’t wait until I have a yard full of pretty flowers and the cute little props (like the wagon wheels I’m going to steal from my Dad’s pasture!)
I have started my riding lessons. I am riding Rain and she has been great from the start. I am learning so much and my goal is to complete the first 3 levels of the Western Rider Program and work hard on the fourth level to be as great as I can be. Now I just have to study my horsemanship and stable management theory, and practice my groundwork and safety practices. I still have to get Rain loping off of the correct leads each direction then we can perfect the reining pattern. I have a great coach and one step at a time I will get that much closer to my end goal of becoming a coach myself.
So that has been what I have been doing in the past month. Busy with gardening, riding, farming and looking into my future. In hopes to continue this blog I have found a new direction for it. And one thing I haven’t mentioned is my photography. Summer is an amazing time for taking pictures as the sun is bright and everything is green and fresh. I have been busy with my camera and excited to get back into the photography mood. To encourage me along, and to give me a place to showcase my work I have decided to do a photo-a-day blog. I will post a photo from each day starting from my birthday (July 15) and see if I can carry this out for a year. I hope this gives me a funner reason to blog and encourage me to better my photography day to day.
I hope you will follow along with my adventure and enjoy my journey as much as I will.
