I feel the need to write tonight because lately things have been going my way. Everything is working out these days very nicely and all the answers I’ve been searching for have been answered. Oh there have been things that “aren’t so good”, like another abscess in Tribar’s hoof, but now we know how to deal with that and it’ll go better this time and heal as it should. Or having to put more time and money into my filly, but she’s so smart and such a good looking horse that it’d be a shame not to make her a little angel to ride.
On the upside the winter cheer is getting to me. I have written and mailed out my Christmas letters along with the photo I sent. I love connecting with friends far and wide… and most of them are FAR. Too far to go for an afternoon visit over a cup of tea. I am also well on my way to finishing my gift shopping. I love thinking about the family and friends as I wander through the online sites 🙂 of many many gifts… of which are made and sold in the US of A and that we can not get shipped here to Canada… and if we can its for a hefty price. Um, excuse me if I’d rather not pay your $30 shipping for a $20 item!
My niece is now one year old, as you saw in the pictures, and for Christmas I created a photobook for her of her first year. I’m so excited to see how that turned out. I had so much fun figuring out how to create that book that I have now created a book for myself of the writing I have been hording on my computer. My writing will now be published on paper… in a real book. All 150 pages of it. I have also included a few pictures every now and then for a little added color. And next year, when I have celebrated a year of photo blogging, all of those pictures will be printed in a photobook as well! How exciting!
On another note, I have been missing my weekly rides and I think Rain has too! I did not want to stop playing with her this winter, but because she does not live in my back yard anymore, I only get to see her when I go to the farm. I have been itching to work on my Parelli moves and skills, but am finding it very frustrating working by myself. Every time I talk to someone about it they look at me like I’m Greek. I’m one of those people who asks a lot of questions. “what if this happens” ,”how does this work”. Its easiest for me to learn with a teacher there answering these questions. But I have not found anyone in this area who practices Parelli methods.
(And another angel appears) So tonight I signed up for “Connect” a social network with Parelli Savvy members! No posts of Parelli Members within 200 miles of me! Although the site is very new and I expect a lot more people to be using it shortly. My horses now have their own web page and friends! But another great thing about it is, besides connecting with these people, it logs your progress. And this is encouraging in itself. It has a list of things to accomplish with your horse, and now I just want to scurry out there and practice them so I can come back home and check them off! (although I did make my own checklist of activities it’s not quite the same)
I hope everyone has a very happy holiday and has a great season with family and friends! 23 days til Christmas and counting! 29 until the new year! May your new year bring just as many stories as the past ones have!
Seasons Greetings from
Rain, Storm, and Roxy (and Skitter)
