Pondering horses, raising babies, developing relationships, building a business, healing limiting beliefs and manifesting dreams…
A few things that don’t always go together.
But to me, in my life right now, they go perfectly together.
For the past few weeks I’ve been at home tending to my brand new babes. And while he sleeps I have been watching Heartland, and watching my own horses graze out in the front pasture.
And in total honesty I’ve been in a place of complete peace and presence just raking in the new experience – except when I am bumping up against a big fat trigger of mine.
That’s where the healing comes in.
I’ve talked a lot about surrendering on this page.
Letting go…
Acceptance…
Trusting….
And this situation is no exception. I know that’s exactly what is required.
On a call last night with friends we were discussing my experience of being a new mom, it was a great conversation, and I said, “now if I could only bring this calm and peaceful mindset into my business that would be nice.”
Honestly, once I even start thinking about promoting my business or offering my services I get two feeling, excited and scared.
I love my work. I would never give up or give in. It’s so easy and natural for me to tune into spirit and I absolutely love connecting to the universal energy.
I love connecting with others energy and finding transformation and settling into their truth.
Soul to Soul these sessions are amazing. And they absolutely light me up, no matter how deep or dark the subject matter.
But the process of promoting myself scares the shit out of me. And opens up a huge trigger for me.
One I’ve witnessed and been nurturing for awhile now.
And it’s time to surrender the fear.
I’m taking my own advice.
What does this have to do with horses or manifesting?
Last night I the conversation the girls had praised my calm spirit to the surrendering work I have done.
And acknowledged that and said that’s exactly what I’m working on now. More surrendering.
I made the point that if you just keep chasing a horse while trying to catch it it’ll just keep running away….
If you just keep chasing your dreams in desperation they will just seem to get farther away.
I did not know or understand exactly what I was saying yesterday. I was just using that as a metaphor.
I did not know how true it actually was.
Until today I was pondering the truth about that statement. And in my mind I saw a round pen with a horse galloping around. (Actually it was Amy off of Heartland, but it’s a scene I’ve seen in reality a thousand times)
It’s a concept cowboys and horse people have been using for years now. They move the horse around the round pen asking for the horses respect and trust.
The movement comes first. So the action(s) must be taken, the intentions set and the attitude calm.
Your actions put movement into the intention.
But if you’ve ever witnessed a round pen session – the connection is not in the chase.
The connection, the join up, is in the release… the surrender.
The moment you step back and release the pressure that gives the horse the opportunity to step towards you.
That opens up the door for the horse to approach you, to join up, to connect.
My mind then switched out the horse for the ‘goals’ I’ve been chasing.
I’ve been chasing them around in circles for years now. Trying and trying to achieve what I’ve set out for myself.
Not realizing that I’ve been pushing them away.
And if I wanted to bring them into my life what I needed to do now was release.
Step back, take the pressure off, turn away, trust the intention was set, the actions taken and the mindset is right and just allow them to connect with me.
It’s time. ?
