I’m calling this photo: independence
Storm being off in her own bubble and not attached to the others, but still co-existing.
Right after this photo was taken and as I begun to type this message all of the horses went trotting off to the shelters to get out of the sun and away from the bugs….
I have two shelters, approx 300ft apart…
Storm took off to one, the other four to the other.
Independence.
But still co-existing.
A confidence in yourself and your abilities.
She is a confident but sensitive horse, quiet but will stand up for herself if needed.
And she’s not herd bound.
She’s an independent soul.
A lesson I could use more of.
I’m very much a people person.
A people pleaser… as I am so sensitive I hurt when others hurt and so I try to raise everyone’s spirits- when they are happy I’m happy.
This is acceptable in the horse world. They feed off of each other’s energy.
But if a leader is running scared- definitely the sensitive types are right with them.
But it happens many times when the sensitive horses are just finding themselves in a place of undo anxiety.
The leaders do not react to this… or they set them straight.
Because the more sensitive, unconfident horse has more of a sensitive trigger to stimulus.
Not always are their instincts of fear realistic.
But we can be sensitive and confident.
We can be soft and strong.
We can be together but apart.
Storm is a huge teacher for me this summer.
And here she stands…
In her own power, independently but still connected with her herd.
