This winter, and specifically this January the deer have taken over! There is more than 20 deer living in our back yard… actually our back field.

They eat on the bales in our bale yard and walk all around our pastures. Every evening, and even sometimes during the day, we see them walking up the driveway headed to the feed.

They have beaten a path in the snow along our driveway that rivals some of our old cow trails.

So what do the deer have to bring with them as a message for me.

*Peace….
My word for this year (n I’m going to have to remember that!!!!) the deer bring a feeling of quiet gentleness that is at peace with the world around it.

*Grace
Deer are a quiet animal that hold a certain kinda grace to themselves. As they run, jump and prance. So to feel this sense of grace within life is a divine lesson to learn.

*Rest/relaxation
In this quietness comes rest/relaxation and a very meditative quality. To restore our minds, bodies and emotions back to a place of health. To get quiet. And trust the universe is continuing to co-create with us our lives and dreams. Rest is part of that equation.

*Serenity/Serendipity
To surrender. To trust. To stop and smell the roses. To appreciate. To step back and watch unfold. To sit with. To be with the experiences that are happening around you. To allow.

*And the divine feminine
Motherhood & more. I’m sinking deeper into my maternity leave. I only have a few months left.
But femininity is more than motherhood. It’s all of those qualities above. It’s about ‘being’ rather than ‘doing’.
