This quote comes from the book The Love Dare, written by Stephen Kendrick and Alex Kendrick. Not that I am going to go on and on about fixing your love life… but its something I believe about ALL OF LIFE.
I have made a commitment of never-ending self-improvement and I believe that WISE COUNSEL is a good first step. It doesn’t have to be in the way of graduate school classes, it can be a mentor, a friend, a community, or just this and that from an industry you want to thrive in.
The world is FULL of answers YOU DON’T HAVE TO MAKE UP YOUR OWN. What you have to do is ask the right questions! You have to follow your own path. Read what is important to you. Only take the advice that works in your situation. Understand what you are going to do with the information once you have it and apply it to your situation.
In my walk through life I have noticed that all the ‘professionals’ have learned from others. They have all applied techniques and made them their own. They have learned and been open to changing what or how they do things. They have asked questions, and found a mentor who had the answers.
You could walk blindly out there making up your own ideas being the fool and trying to rewrite the book, but “why not cross the bridges others have built”?
