It is still sort of the beginning of a new year. We are just getting settled in to 2011. Are there many new things on your schedule, or are there any new changes in your life? Here… not so much. I didn’t even have any clearly marked new years resolutions. But I’m always striving to be the best I can be, and with any new lesson I learn I try and change for the better.
Storm is having the time of her life in pony training. I can’t wait to get her back and see how she does. I’ve been trying to come up with a purpose for her. Last night, after a bit of thinking, I pondered the idea of working on her at liberty. Once I get the respect and trust think she’d make a very good looking liberty horse! I also think she’d look amazing in the reining ring as well.
Rain is friendlier than ever, and loving our little play sessions. I have ordered the Parelli Bareback Pad. I know, I know! Why do you need a bareback pad to go riding bareback? I honestly don’t know, but I just really wanted one. And I think it’d make it more fun for me. Once I’m having fun I’ll ride more and more bareback. I’ve always wanted to, but too scared if I fall off I can’t get back on. Well this one has a handle on it and I hope it’ll help me get back on each time… or help me not fall off!
I am preparing to take my level one Parelli test. My goal is to send in my test video in February. Rain is doing excellent. It’s me who’s scared we are not doing things right. I also ordered a DVD on HORSENALITIES. It’s Pat Parelli’s way of categorizing the personalities of horses. I’m excited to read up on that and see how to train different minds. There is so much to learn!
I haven’t (entirely) forgot about my photo blog either. Although, taking one picture a day is difficult sometimes. I find it easier to take an afternoon and just go out and shoot a bunch of pictures and see what I can find. So I did just that. I did a snowy photo shoot today and will be posting the pictures tonight for you all to enjoy. It has been snowy and chilly these last few weeks so these pictures will fit right in.
