The bay mare (Storm), when I left to go pick up these two minis last spring, clearly thanked me for following my intuition and following through.
As I drove into the yard to pick them up I KNEW I’d made the right decision
And when I was driving away with them loaded in the trailer… me in the truck, them in the trailer (energy works in mysterious ways
) the little black one clearly spoke to me “thank you Mom for coming and getting us”
I teared up.
It took a lot of hard work and a lot of convincing to justify getting, not one but two, minis for my sons birthday last spring.
I thought one was for him (the white one) and one for me (the little black one) … however…
And originally when I went to look at the minis that were for sale I went to look at two older mares.
I came home with two young geldings.
And I knew … I just knew the second one was not for me…
Last summer when the timing was right again to talk about family planning the little black one would not stay in the pen.
Every day I was thinking about what the future held and what was yet to come this little guy would get out of the pen and run around the yard. Chaos ensued lol
The dog, cats, the ppl would all be outa sorts lol. (eventually this made me laugh)
But the last time it happened this little one came right up to the steps and I clearly heard “mom, what about me”
We got him back in and everything calmed down and after all was said and done a very brief conversation was had and we just had to agree to the decision lol
The little one never did get out again
(it helped that the next morning two new electrical wires were added lower on the fence lol)
But I knew… I just knew.
And her we are this summer with two little boys and their momma. (And dad- but his horse isn’t in the photo lol)
Storm was instantly interested in them, they don’t always hang out but today I caught this precious moment that I had to capture reminding me of last summer’s shenanigans and how it all got started lol.
