Today’s message is serious.
It’s a message of power.
Of stepping up.
Of owning yourself.
Knowing your fullness.
Of joining in.
Knowing that you matter.
Of being strong in your energy but soft in your
soul.
This is a truly honest post…
I was cleaning out my basement yesterday and that’s where my tack is stored.
We had a tack shed outside but the mice got into it n the last thing I wanted was wrecked tack…. So into the house it came.
But you see the story of my horse journey is a long and complicated one.
So as I went through my tack it brought me back to my days of learning to ride at ages 6-16.
Then it took me to my days in vermilion deepening into my knowledge of horses.
And it led me to the days when I wanted to become a coach so I was taking my training…
That led me to Parelli and self healing.
And that led me to seek healing through horses….
And here I sit. Wondering who I am as a horse person.
Wtf do I do with my tack, with my horses?
Do I cowboy up n get on with my training (what all this tack represents)
Or do I rid myself of the pressure of that and just spend the time in the field enjoying their presence.
I couldn’t let go…
But as I sit here I realize I have to let go of who I thought I was or who I was trying to be so I can become the person I am.
The horses agree.
They are here for me.
They need me as much as I need them.
I was trying to find my strength by proving I was the same as everyone else, I could ride, I could rope, I could train, I could jump, I could teach….
But that’s not me.
I’m something else.
All of that has given me horsemanship skills, but those skills have not led me to my true authentic calling.
Liberty.
Relationship.
Authenticity.
Truth.
So no I’m not going to just sell it all…. like I was feeling like doing yesterday, but I’m definitely not going back to who I was before.
