I’m never so grounded as when I’m with my cows.

I don’t baby them.

I don’t ask anything of them.

I just am.

They just are…

We feed them, water them, treat them when they are sick, move them from pasture to pasture and then just let them be cows.

There’s no judgement. There’s no pressure. There’s just quiet cows doing random things.

I walk around and own my space in this herd, trusting but ready. Patient, kind and understanding.

These are happy cows. They live happy lives. They aren’t that demanding, really. Because they know how to just be.

And when they are left to nature, they do just that.

For purpose of respecting neighbours we put up fences.

And for purpose of health we make sure they are cared for, with minimal stress.

And they are content.

They know their purpose here on earth and they fulfill that with their presence.

There is no shame or blame here. There’s only the present moment. And with this they are happy.

And that is where you find peace. ?
