Yee haw. Now I think most of the cattle branding’s are over this year. I attended one today and what a beautiful day it was. I did a lot of riding today, and it felt so good. I need more days like that. I also had another lesson tonight and Rain is coming along nicely. I honestly think her biggest problem is me. I have to keep learning and adapting.

And I’m trying to do just that. I am researching and looking up numerous horseman, trainers, theories, and techniques. I have over whelmed myself with stuff to read and watch. But I am so interested in bettering every part of my horsemanship and it seems like natural horsemanship is the way to go. The main techniques resting in balance, timing, and feel. Understanding the horse in its natural environment and understand its natural instincts and gain a better relationship because of this. Now, I’m not 100% sure about these techniques yet, but I am willing to learn and I am embracing every new idea as a possible learning tool.

I am excited for July and looking forward to haying. I love the hay season, everything except unplugging the haybine. It’s about time they invented something a little more “user friendly”. Well, I suppose it won’t be invented this year anyway, so I might as well go buy 4 more pairs of gloves and start working on my arm muscles now. Or just put a rescue squad on speed dial…. “Dad, I plugged it again…”. He loves those phone calls, and it’s not like he has anything better to do. (Don’t tell him I told you that. He he he)

I am also looking forward to the start of my daily photo blog. As it does not have a name or title yet that’s what I’m calling it for now. I will try and take photos daily and post them to my blog. I hope more than not on my SLR camera but I do find my phone camera is the handiest. Even today, at the branding everyone thought I was texting my long lost love, when actually I was taking pictures of their lovely faces. “Say cheese!” Today’s post will feature the cutest helper at the branding, and the little rascal that almost got me thrown from my horse. Enjoy!
