It knows your intentions, it knows your expectations, it knows your emotions, and it knows your trust, leadership and respect. Your horse is your window to yourself. Your horse is your truth.
This is the reason why you need to be emotionally, mentally, physically fit around your horses. They know how to out think you. They are prey animals, and if they didn’t know how to out think predators they would no longer be around today.
They know if you plan to just hang out with them, or go for a day long ride. They know whether they are being trailered to go somewhere or just to be let out again. They know what you know before you know it and they know how to get away with the things they can get away with.
So before you evaluate your horse, or judge them for being stubborn, rude, disrespectful, or having, in general, a bad attitude… view this as a window to yourself. Look at how you need to change to outsmart your horse. This is the question, what is the answer to your horse?
